I was editing one of my Pickaxe apps in Pickaxe.co earlier this week. I chose an OpenAI model as the underlying large language model. And when I asked a question within the preview of the Pickaxe, I got this alert that I had to identify myself, and then there was a red URL to an OpenAI page that asked me to confirm my identity. Is this legitimate?
Hi @sovereign,
Welcome to the community, and thanks for checking in.
This can be legitimate in some cases, especially if your Studio is using your own OpenAI API key. OpenAI may ask for account verification on their side. Pickaxe itself will never ask you to confirm your identity or log into OpenAI.
If you haven’t already, please take a look at this related thread as well. It covers a very similar OpenAI verification message and might clear things up:

If anything still feels off, could you share a screenshot of what you’re seeing? You can post it here or email it to info@pickaxe.co and we’ll take a look.
Yes, that’s what I got: - a provider error, and the link in red.
Seems legitimate, then. Just being paranoid as usual. ![]()
Thank you for the speedy reply.
