My usecase is that i’m embedding pickaxe in another app.
I want to manipulate user programmatically with API etc.
Is it possible ?
If you explain in more detail, I can give you a more detailed answer.
Just going off context, I’m guessing your question might be: “Can I embed a Pickaxe in my own website, and then communicate things about the user (i.e. an associated account within my own website) to the embedded Pickaxe?”
You are not able to do that with embedded Pickaxes. You have to put Pickaxes in a studio in order to keep track of specific users. The embedded Pickaxes only track users by IP address, which they use for usage limit purposes.
Thx for this reply.
You right, the question was: a user registrer on my studio, can i get a webhook notification with his email adress, etc. to connect my systems, for example, with my CRM or email marketing tool, etc.
Thx in advance.
Right now, no. Your studio does not send automatic triggers when someone signs up. But you can export the users from the Studio from within the monitor tab.
I am told that embedded Pickaxes are only able to track users by email login feature, not IP address. Can you confirm? I really don’t want to upgrade to the PRO feature, it’s too expensive! But I need the tracking feature. it seems to reset on different browsers/ different devices.
To my knowledge, the information Mike shared about a year ago about tracking via the IP Address was older information. Now, with the recent upgrades to the embedded Pickaxes, my users are able to track their user information by logging into their email through the embedded form.
I’ve done it on multiple embedded pickaxes. As long as they verify their email it follows them on multiple pages.
It is also true that if they switch browsers or devices, they will have to verify once. It’s not like it logs them out or anything. Just for every new device, there’s a one time verification, and then that device or browser is verified indefinitely on all pages that share the website domain. It’s pretty convenient, and I have found the pro account has been worth every penny to me.
Did that answer your question @karina ?
@enochleffingwell thanks for your feedback. Yes it seems the only workaround is the email login feature- which I find a little inconvenient as my users already log in to use my site. This would be a double step of verification. That being said, the Pro is too expensive for me as my project is pre-revenue and it adds up monthly. Trying to see if there is a workaround. Thanks again.
