Batch Replace URL Parts in KB

During development, sometimes you have a new domain and seed it with some content before DNS propagation is done.

In this case, you might import some URLs to the KB with the temp domain name, say the 5 or 6 test pages you actually want.

Now, it’s possible to import sitemap.xml, which is fine, but that’s a big hammer for a small bug…I guess one could delete all the pages once the DNS update propagates, then import sitemap.xml, then manually remove terms, privacy policy, features, contact-us, etc., but that’s not good either.

Hence, the FR: replace URL parts like tempdomain, fuzzy-wolverine.hostingersites.com with the actual domain name…that would be really nice.

In response to this request, have asked our engineers to make it possible to replace existing links in the Knowledge Base - will follow up here when that has been done!

Now, @lindsay_support, that is just phenomenal! I really appreciate the action and the update.

Just today, I think, Hostinger sent me an email…{Domain} has been connected…which means that they detected that DNS propagation was completed. That’s likely too much to ask, but maybe?…there could be an automatic (wait 24 hours or til the real URL resolves) component?
Just being able to batch replace URL parts like tempdomain, fuzzy-wolverine.hostingersites.com with the actual domain name would be magical.
Obviously, I am happy to help in any way.

Hi @kenlyle, just an update that we have added the capability to "replace” a webpage in the same way that you can a file! We will consider some kind of wait component, but I hope this change at least makes things a bit more doable on your end

Awesome, Thanks!

For those following along at home, the more you can use list a parent URL, the more powerful this replace feature would be, that you get the crawl of linked pages automatically.
