Can't provide Google Sheets in knowledge base

I’m not techy, sorry if this questions is stupid. But I got so frustrated, that I must ask

I want to connect Google Sheet as a training material in the Knowledge (I want AI to have access to the list of my products and links to my ecommerce site). When I click on Add More Files → Connect Google Drive eventually it ends up in creating a new pickaxe (agent) but not adding a spreadsheet to a pickaxe I am working on.

I also tried to provide a public link (anyone with it can read the spreadsheet) to the Spreadsheet in my knowledge base. But it doesn’t work - AI doesn’t know anything about my products if I provide it that way.

Then I tried to play with some Action related to Google Sheets but got freaking scared because of permissions it asked for. It was a third party asking me to provide access not only to read but manage ALL my files on Google Drive. I don’t know and don’t trust that vendor - it was not a native Pickaxe action.

Please please help me! Maybe I simply just don’t see some obvious thing…

Hi @donatas,
Thank you for reaching out!

The issue where the Knowledge Base Google Drive flow redirects you into creating a new Pickaxe instead of attaching to the Pickaxe you are already editing has already been reported. It is currently tracked under PRD-797, and our engineers are actively working on a fix. Thank you for flagging it and for your patience and understanding while we work on it. I will update you once the fix is live.

Regarding actions, Pickaxe does offer the Google Sheet Collector BETA action natively, but that action is write-only.

The action you likely saw was the Google Sheets MCP by Smithery, which is a third-party integration. Our team reviews and approves the external platforms we integrate with, but if you would like to review Smithery’s privacy and data handling details directly, you can find that here:
