Custom domain broken — CNAME target removed from Deployment Settings UI

Hi Pickaxe support,

My custom domain onboarding.neurorythm.com has been working for approximately 6 months and stopped working recently. I am getting a 404 with the Pickaxe logo.

What’s broken:

https://studio.pickaxe.co/STUDIOXY64QT2HNSOTIF5 returns 404
https://onboarding.neurorythm.com returns 404 as a result
My DNS/CNAME in cPanel has not changed
The bigger issue: The Deployment Settings page no longer shows a CNAME target value. Previously there was a field showing the CNAME target I needed to point my domain at — that section is now completely gone from the UI. I have no way to reconfigure or fix this myself.

My setup:

Workspace ID: STUDIOXY64QT2HNSOTIF5
Custom domain: onboarding.neurorythm.com
This was working perfectly until recently with no changes on my end. I was trying to set it up for my new one at merge.neurorythm.com
Please advise:

What happened to the custom domain CNAME configuration in Deployment Settings?
How do I restore onboarding.neurorythm.com to point to my Onboarding Assistant?
Thank you

Hi @J.D,

Thanks for sending this issue over to us! Looking at your account, your custom domain is configured correctly. If you don’t have a portal in your workspace, clicking on the domain will send your users to a 404 page. You will have to give your users the actual link to your three direct link deployments if you want them to have access. These direct links will still have your custom domain in it but will just have an additional bit at the end to link to the deployment. If you want https://onboarding.neurorythm.com to work by itself, please go ahead and create a portal and add your agents/pages to it!

When you first set up your domain, you will be able to see the CNAME target. After your domain is completely set up, unless you accidentally break your configuration, you don’t need to see it again. If you do break it, there will be a popup that shows the CNAME as well as your record.

Hopefully this cleared up all of your confusion, but feel free to ask us some more questions!
