🚀 GPT 5.1 is now live in Pickaxe!

Hi everyone,

We’re excited to share that GPT 5.1 is now available across Pickaxe. You can select it directly from the model dropdown inside the Builder and start using it right away.

Compared to GPT 5, GPT 5.1 is noticeably more conversational, better at following detailed instructions, and uses adaptive reasoning so it knows when to think more deeply and when to respond quickly.

This update gives you faster responses, better reasoning, and more stable outputs for complex tools. If you’ve been waiting for the next generation of OpenAI models, this one should feel like a solid step forward.

A few quick notes:

  • Works just like other models in the Builder

  • Pricing is visible on the updated Pricing page

  • You can switch between models anytime if you want to compare results

As always, if you notice anything odd or have ideas on how we can make this easier for builders, feel free to drop a comment. Your feedback genuinely shapes these updates.

Happy building!

Great job for being so fast to have the GPT 5.1 model available! So far it does seem to be more conversational with more personality than GPT 5.

I’m running into the same bug that Haiku had when you guys launched it. I’m unable to take a picture or upload a picture on IOS (new iphone in safari). It only has the video option. Hopefully this is an easy fix. I’m going to continue experimenting with GPT 5.1… thanks guys! @danny_support

@abhi still seeing this bug. I opened up a support ticket. I’m thinking of switching to gpt 5.1 for the product I’m about to ship but I need to test the image features first. I’m able to create images with nano banana but I haven’t been able to test editing uploaded pictures.

Pickaxe has been awesome so far. You guys unlocked a quicker way to get to market, it’s great. I’m happy I chose to build here instead of elsewhere.

I tried moving some of my pickaxes over to 5.1 and all of them are so incredibly slow to respond… avg time is 15-20 seconds per query. The fastest and most responsive I’ve tested is 4.1

The lag is a major deterrent for my users.

Just thought I’d pass along the feedback
