🚀 Introducing Wingman: Your AI Assistant Inside Pickaxe

We just shipped Wingman, a Pickaxe AI copilot, which you might have seen floating in the bottom right corner within your workspace. The Wingman takes real actions for you. Describe what you want, it builds it. No terminal, no API keys, no setup. It picks up your workspace credentials automatically and uses our new Pickaxe CLI to do the work.

What it can do

:hammer_and_wrench: Build agents end-to-end (instructions, knowledge, actions, deployment)
:artist_palette: Style embeds with real custom code
:page_facing_up: Build fully custom Pages: quizzes that route to agents, onboarding hubs, comparison grids, anything you’d normally hire a dev for
:busts_in_silhouette: Bulk invite users, manage Access Groups, set pricing tiers
:books: Update knowledge bases and memory in seconds
:high_voltage: All the boring clicks: rename, unpublish, tweak limits, change upgrade messages

See it in action

Quick walkthrough of Wingman building an agent, configuring Access Groups, and designing a styled page from scratch:

Hey guys, this is awesome. I experimented with it last night and built something pretty complex in an hour that I was unable to build before. I think this can unlock so much. I just wanted to say great job, you guys have been shipping awesome features.

The wingman is great. I just have a question about the usage. Any usage included in the plans per month, or is it only the initial, I guess $5 or whatever it was that I used right now? I’m not sure. It was about 30 messages. Is it the monthly $5, or does it depend on your plan? Can you give a clear overview of what the deal is there? Would be amazing because I don’t see anything on the pricing page.

We’re experimenting a bit here… so apologies for any confusion.

One of the cool things about the Wingman is that, my goal is that it is made with off the shelf Pickaxe components. Anyone could make their own Wingman using agentic runtime, SSO embeds, Javascript, and a bit of elbow grease, on top of Pickaxe.

As a result of that goal, we run into some issues with the credit system and how to meter usage, unfortunately. The Wingman uses an Access Group-controlled credits-based system. It uses off the shelf embed monetization that any user could set up.

The way it currently works, every user gets $10 of usage for free per month. All users get the same. Beyond that, we charge for usage. The confusing thing is, that usage is distinct from extra credits you buy in Pickaxe. Think of them like “Wingman Credits”.

We may adjust this in future, but for now I personally am having a lot of fun managing a Pickaxe agent that so many people use… as if I was a Pickaxe customer myself!
