This is the model I’m hearing a lot of buzz about for writing. It’s cheap at around $0.40/m input tokens and $1.75/m for output tokens. Context window is ok at around 256k.

One big feature is it avoids a lot of the AI writing cliches common in American models. This model is by MoonshotAI which is an Alibaba company.

As Chinese models go, DeepSeek is good for analysis and reasoning. But Kimi K2 Reasoning is good at writing and marketing copy. So think Sonnet 4.5 but at a fraction of the cost.

Hi Pickaxe Team,

Is there any estimated timeline for when the Kimi model will be available on Pickaxe? If there isn’t a public ETA yet, could you share whether it’s on the roadmap (and any rough guidance on timing)?

Thank you so much for recommending this model. I just started playing with it and it is amazing and I believe it will help my clients build even more amazing things.

The slide creator is so impressive. Does anyone know if there is a current model that creates anything comperable?

I hear Claude has a new slide maker tool built into the app. But I haven’t had a chance to play with it yet. I also don’t know if it is available through the API.

I think this is a perfect example of why I suggested Straico integration, but OpenRouter is about the same thing, right?
