MCP Search Fails frequently

OpenAIWebSearch MCP fails all the time. Queries that require current data just spin. Makes me hesitant to try other MCP’s. Am I doing something wrong?

Also, when I try to fall back to Google Search, I get terrible results. Hard to offer anything to a client that doesn’t have reliable access to the internet.

Is there a way to ensure reliable web search capability?

Hi @joepa00, thanks for flagging this. I just tried and it worked for me. Could you share 2- 3 sample queries and the exact prompts you used to trigger Google Search?

Please email us from your registered email ID at info@pickaxeproject.com with your Studio link, Pickaxe name, those sample queries, and any timestamps or screenshots. We’ll investigate right away.

Is supposed to search auto news and report back what is happening today. It worked for you because I changed everything over to Google Search, but I’d much prefer the OpenAI MCP. But this is what happens every time. It spins, then returns, “network error”.

To ensure I capture the most relevant trends, could you please confirm the date you’d like me to scan for? If there’s a specific region to prioritize (e.g., U.S./Canada) let me know as well.
