Bug: Folder reordering broken in Portal editor — folders get stuck, nested folders are unrecoverable

Posting this after exhausting every option I could think of.

When editing a portal in the workspace, folder drag-and-drop reordering doesn’t work reliably. Specifically:

  • A folder positioned at the bottom cannot be moved to the top (or anywhere above its current position)

  • A nested folder cannot be un-nested — once it’s inside another folder, there’s no way to pull it back out to the root level

Tested across multiple browsers, Mac, PC, and two different mice. Also attempted live with @lindsay_support same result across the board.

This is a meaningful workflow blocker. Portal structure changes require folder movement to be reliable, and right now it’s not.

Is there a workaround I’m missing, or is this a known issue with a fix in queue?

Confirmed on our end too. Dragging either snaps back to the original slot or keeps the folder trapped under its parent, so there is no reliable way to reorder or un-nest right now. I filed this as PRD-562 for the product team and flagged it as a portal-structure blocker. I’ll keep this thread updated when the fix ships (or if engineering needs a screen share), but for now the only workaround is rebuilding the folder tree from scratch. Thanks for the detailed repro notes – they helped us cut straight to the bug.
