Custom Studio Terms Acceptance During Signup

Question about configuring acceptance of custom Studio terms during signup.
Hello,

I am currently setting up a Studio in Pickaxe and I need to enable mandatory acceptance of my Studio’s own Terms and Conditions during the user signup process.

I have seen references to a possible configuration under Settings → Signup / Onboarding → Custom Signup Fields (or Custom Fields) that would allow adding a required checkbox for accepting custom Studio terms. However, in my Settings panel I do not see any section related to Signup, Onboarding, or Custom Fields.

Could you please clarify the following points:

  • Whether this functionality is currently available for all Studios or only for certain plans.
  • Whether there is any way to enable or request activation of custom signup fields for a Studio.
  • What the recommended technical and legal approach is for requesting acceptance of custom Studio terms during signup when this option is not visible.
  • Whether this functionality is planned to be made generally available in the future.

My goal is to properly comply with legal requirements (explicit acceptance of the Studio’s terms and privacy policy) without interfering with Pickaxe’s own platform terms.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Best regards,

Pablo

Pablo

Hi Pablo @inmoiaagentes, great question.

Totally understand where this is coming from. Different companies have their own specific terms, and it makes sense to want that control beyond the standard Pickaxe terms, especially if it helps you or your clients stay compliant.

The most practical approach today is to handle acceptance of your own Studio Terms and Privacy Policy outside of Pickaxe. Many builders do this by embedding their Pickaxe on their own website, where they can add mandatory checkboxes, country specific disclosures, and any legal language required. Since requirements vary by region, managing this on your own domain gives you full flexibility.

If you’re using the Studio Website, you can also add links or scripts to your Terms and Privacy Policy using Settings → Website code injection. This lets you inject custom code into the header or footer across your Studio pages, which works well for displaying legal links, notices, or consent related UI.

If you already have a signup, checkout, or onboarding flow, that’s the ideal place to require explicit acceptance. Once users complete that step, they can access the embedded Pickaxe normally.

This keeps things clean. Your site handles legal consent, and Pickaxe focuses on delivering the AI experience. Happy to clarify more if needed.
