Do we get notified when our paid subscribers are about to use up our monthly credits? Different API keys per PickAxe or same Per Studio?

I’m on the PickAxe Gold plan, which offers 1000 free monthly credits. Do our pickaxes send emails to notify us when only 100, 50, or even 10 credits are left so we know when to implement an API key like OpenAI?

What happens if no more credits are left and no API key is in place yet? Do the users get errors they can’t create anything anymore, and do we also get emails saying the same thing?

Is this per PickAxe or per Studio when we implement an API key so we can’t use our 1000 monthly credits to test new PickAxes anymore?

To Clarify What I’m Trying to Accomplish:

I’m looking to use API keys at the PickAxe level within the same studio. Is this possible anymore? I would like to use my monthly credits for testing on unlisted PickAxes in the same studio before they go live, then put an API key in the live ones without affecting all the other ones in testing mode that aren’t ready (they would use my monthly credits, not API keys).

I am looking for a solution without using webhooks.

Following up on this since still no answer. The best route for us would be to input our API key ahead of time but let Pickaxe use all our monthly credits first then know to switch to BYOK APIs so there is no interruption in service.

Hi @rainmaker! You can set up notifications to alert you when you are low on credits on your Account page under Notifications (see screenshot) - you can set the number of credits you’d like to have remaining when you get a notification, and you will receive an email.

If you set up an API key, that will always be used in lieu of your account credits where applicable, and API keys are added by Studio. Some potential options for your use case:

  • You could create a “test” Studio and “deployment” Studio - one for creating Pickaxes, and another for deploying those same Pickaxes through the duplication feature.
  • You can can toggle your API key(s) off and, after receiving notification that you are low on credits, turn them on again
