My take:

  • GPT Image 1.5 is MUCH better at making non destructive tweaks and changes.
  • GPT Image 1.5 is better at illustrations than Nanobanana.
  • Nanobanana is better at photo realistic images than Nanobanana.
  • Nanobanana can make 16x9 images. GPT Image 1.5 can’t.

So I currently in my customGPT that I am recreating in pickaxe creates some amazing moodboards - what are your thoughts selecting Nanobanana? I think ultimately I should probably test the output and see if I get the same, better or worse as well as compare cost. Always nice to get a third party recommendation though!

NanoBanana is really really good at marketing style photos. See Google Pomelli if you want to be really blown away.

We switched to mostly using NanoBanana rather than GPT image. However, GPT image is a lot cheaper in pickaxe right now. So it may be it is good enough and big cost savings.
