A quick update for the builders who love experimenting with new models.
We just added Grok 4.1 Fast and Grok 4.1 Fast Reasoning to the AI Model selector. Youâll find both options right inside the model dropdown, and you can filter for them just like any other model.
These versions are tuned for fast, agentic workflows, so they are great if your Pickaxe uses Actions or needs quick reasoning loops.
I am getting this error with Grok 4.1 Reasoning âProvider Error 1: Model grok-4-1-fast-reasoning does not support parameter reasoningEffort.â
According to Grok:
Grok 4.1 Fast Reasoning (available in the API as the grok-4-1-fast-reasoning model) does not provide options for customizing the reasoning amount or similar parameters. Reasoning is an inherent capability of the model, but the API documentation focuses on standard parameters like context window (2M tokens) and pricing, without exposing adjustable reasoning levels, steps, or quantities. For full details on API parameters and usage, refer to the official docs at https://docs.x.ai/docs/models.
Nice one Pickaxe team! Grok 4.1 Fast Reasoning is a great alternative to Grok 4 Fast Reasoning for prompt chaining native Pickaxe agents within a PNAA structure as I outlined here:
For Pickaxers who donât yet know, you can build agentic workflows within Pickaxe using native tools in Pickaxe. You can experiment with the official template here:
Congratulations on the tool and thank you for pointing out this tab with the templates. Due to my oversight, I had never visited it before and itâs certainly a rich resource.
On your OX home screen, was the file upload capability via form probably something custom you built?
Or am I using something already natively available in Pickaxe that Iâm not able to see :)?

However, I was referring to the placement of a field for file insertion within the context of a sequence of questions (as if they were a form), considering that there are only 4 types of questions:
I was already familiar with the capability of allowing users to attach files in the conversation, but I currently only see this possibility in the âForm+Chatâ model after the user enters the answers in the âFormâ and subsequently has the âChatâ enabled.
In your tool itâs different. The file upload field makes it seem like we have a fifth type of form field:
@hirbis I understand you. Document upload tab is always placed as the 1st in the list of user inputs within a form or form + chat - style pickaxes. It is also not specific to form + chat Pickaxes.
What I did in the case of OX is add it as a user input as I showed in the previous response
