Unable to deploy Pickaxe LiveChat FAB embed on main landing page

Summary

I’m trying to add a livechat support widget to my studio landing page as a floating action button (FAB). However, in the Site Editor, the “Select or Add embed” flow only lets me create new embeds (not select an existing one), and when I create an embed and set it to FAB, the chat still appears as an inline embed on the page. Additionally, the embed selection state appears not to save in the editor.

Environment

• Browser: Tested on Chrome, Firefox and MS Edge and same happening on all 3 browsers

• OS: Windows

• Page: Studio Landing Page [* LINK]

• Date/time observed: 12:30GMT 22/01/2026

Steps to Reproduce

1. Create and configure a new Pickaxe intended to be a live chat support embed placed on the main landing page as a FAB deployment.

2. Go to Site Editor.

3. Click Add section → select Pickaxe Embed.

4. Rename the section and ensure the visibility toggle is ON.

5. In the section’s config settings, click Select or Add embed.

6. A popup appears, but it only allows “Create an embed” (no option to select an existing embed).

7. Create an embed, set the deployment type to FAB, save, and close the popup.

8. Open Live Preview and refresh the page.

Actual Result

• No FAB chat icon appears.

• Scrolling down shows the livechat embedded inline instead of as a FAB.

• Returning to the Pickaxe Embed section editor shows the default state, as if no embed is selected (it does not display the embed I just created).

• Clicking Select or Add embed again still only allows creating a new embed (can’t select previously created).

• Back in the main Studio area → Pickaxes → LiveChat Support, multiple embeds appear under Deployments (suggesting embeds are being created each time, but not linked/selected in the editor).

Expected Result

• The popup should allow selecting an existing embed (or show the most recently created embed as selectable).

• After creating an embed, the Site Editor section should show the embed name/selection as saved.

• With deployment set to FAB, the chat widget should appear as a FAB icon on the page (not inline).

Workarounds Tried

• Repeated the create-and-save flow multiple times (no change).

• Deleted extra embeds under Deployments (kept one).

• Copied the embed code via Share and pasted into a Raw Text HTML section.

  • Result: it displays, but still as an inline form, not a FAB.

Impact / Severity

This prevents using livechat as a FAB on the landing page and causes repeated creation of unused embeds, making Deployments cluttered and confusing.

Questions for Dev Team

• Is the missing “Select existing embed” option a known issue/regression?

• Is there a required step to bind an embed to the Pickaxe Embed section after creation?

• Is FAB deployment supported in the Site Editor embed section, or only via certain embed methods?
