Hi, my studio is returning a “provider error” for all Pickaxes when an Anthropic model is selected. I have no Studio API keys or anything else that I can find. This happened when I created a brand new empty Pickaxe as well.
Here’s Claude’s suggestion:
Anthropic recently updated model strings and an outdated or malformed string (like claude-sonnet-4-5 instead of claude-sonnet-4-5-20250929) will throw a provider error even when the API is fully operational
Is anyone else having this issue? Any suggestions @admin_mike ?
My studio is karshcc.nonprophet.ai
Hi @liveboldtravel, thanks for reaching out! I just took a look at the Studio (Karsh Command Center), and it looks as though there is an Anthropic API key (which is visible in the Settings tab of your Studio Dashboard). You will need to either toggle off your API key or check your Anthropic account to see why your key is not working correctly.
An easy way to check whether the provider error is related to an API key is in Message Insights. If, under Performance, the “Pickaxe credits” say “not used,” it means that a user’s API key was used for the prompt run instead of the request being made by Pickaxe. In this case, when I took a look in your Studio, the times where a ‘provider error’ popped up appear to be using an API key!
You can learn more about provider errors here - and if you want me to send screenshots of where your API key is located, or the Message Insights I looked at, you can always email us at info@pickaxeproject.com!
