I’m having several problems with my pickaxes.
They’re very slow, they don’t complete all the tasks, and in the end, users consume credits without achieving the expected result.
What could be causing this?
I’m using the Gemini 3 Pro model.

Have you tried changing to Gemini 3 Flash (better performance + cheaper) and adding more tokens to output?
EDIT. After testing my own bots I have noticed a serious slowness as well. Meaning the bots take upto 2-3 mins to answer even when asked to answer something super simple. Normally this takes few seconds to max 30 seconds on longer / harder topics.
This doesn’t seem normal. @admin_mike / @nathaniel can you check this out whats happening on your end
Hi @latransformateca and @hurmuli, sorry to hear that.
This can depend on a few things. Prompt/task complexity matters, but sometimes it can also be a genuine model side issue, especially with Gemini.
@latransformateca has kindly sent an email to info@Pickaxe.co - @hurmuli, to help us look into this properly, could you email us with a bit more detail? The name of the Pickaxe, a link to it, the model used, and the email associated with your account would be really helpful. Also let us know if this is happening only with Gemini 3 Pro or with other models too.
Once we have that, we can dig in and take a closer look.
After some testing I noticed that if I copy and paste a text (~400-600 tokens length) from HTML (pure text) page the bot got a stuck and it never showed up in the studio (meaning it never went through). If I gave the same question/text in a simple txt file (4.6 KB) it managed to go through it and it showed up as question / answer in studio.
Not sure whats happening here.
Model Gemini 3 Flash, no actions used or needed for the answer.
I usually find that switching and just testing different model usually helps out.
I have noticed that Gemini models have been taking longer than expected as well the past few weeks.
@hurmuli: Please send us an email with the requested details
Whenever you notice Pickaxe not responding, it’s always a good idea to check the official model status pages to see if there’s a coinciding outage or degradation.
