Cannot connect to Google Drive

I know, you guys just sent this note out…

I am trying to connect my Google Drive to my pickax studio
1 - I followed the flow in the email you just sent out (I did not have Google Drive connected previously)
2 - it says I’m connected (see the screenshot)
3 - but I get a connection error. Composio Google Drive proxy request failed with status 403. (see the screenshot)

My Google Drive is over 13 GB, if that matters. I don’t intend to connect nearly that many files, though

hi there ! taking a look now. will reply here shortly with some context (-:

hi again! @covetedconsultant

we believe we’ve pinned down the issue: when initially authenticating, Google may show the checkbox below:

this checkbox is required for connecting Google Drive via Pickaxe. if it is not selected, Google may still let you press Continue, but Pickaxe will not receive the Drive permissions needed to import or sync files.

we’re working on making this clearer in the connection flow so it is more obvious that this checkbox is not optional when connecting Drive.

if you connected Drive without selecting the checkbox, please try reconnecting from the Pickaxe Knowledge Base screen first. when Google asks for access, be sure to select the checkbox allowing access to your Google Drive files.

if Google does not show the permission screen again, follow these steps:

  1. Visit Google’s Third-Party Access and select Composio

  2. Delete all connections with Composio

  1. Re-authenticate again from the Pickaxe Knowledge Base screen, and be sure to select the checkbox allowing access to your Google Drive files

update here: this workaround should no longer be required !

this was a temporary issue affecting a small number of users.

some users were missing the checkbox, so we made it a little easier to connect by not requiring the extra click.

please please let us know if you are facing any other issues and thank you as always for letting us know :construction_worker:

Gotcha. I’m in!

Fyi, I never saw the checkbox you mentioned (either before my error or after).
My new experience looks like this.
I’ve attached my first Google Drive file. Yay!

Thank you for moving so quickly.

I have been through this thread and still cannot get a document to upload from google drive. When I go to myaccount.google.com, it appears that composio has permissions to create, delete, and edit all of my files. My account is connected, I select the file I’d like in the knowledge base, but then it just shows a never-ending spinning wheel of death next to the file as it’s “uploading”. Please help.

hi Mika ! sorry our good friend Google Drive is being difficult!

taking a look now.

was it the Family Rules, Chores, & Systems for Discipline – FAQs doc ? i have this one in the backend with a processingAttemptCount: 5 : which may explain the document purgatory.

if not this document, and you have some time to do so, please email info@pickaxe.co or respond here with the document or document type and/or a screenshot if possible

I need to connect 6 documents. Yes, this was one of them. I have tried uploading others as well. I currently have uploaded them without Google Drive, but would like to connect them using google drive so that we can change them there and they can stay updated in the knowledg base.

Hi @mikaross,

It looks like you were able to get those files uploaded. I know you said you uploaded them without Google Drive, but could you check to see if the issue is still happening? If it is still occurring, please send us an email with screenshots for more context so we can figure out what’s happening. Our email is info@pickaxeproject.com.
