I have an agent Claude Opus 4.7 and I have OFTEN have an experience where it creates a new document and opens in co-pilot but then it’s blank, there is nothing there, I have to ask to fully rebuild and re-open in a new co-pilot window and that fixes SOME of the time, this is getting super expensive to have these run over and over..

We looked into your issue and a ticket has been created with the number PRD-916. Another thing we noticed is that in your Copilot actions, you don’t have a trigger prompt set. Ideally the Copilot action should have a trigger prompt as it will specify to the agent when you want it to run the action. Try to be specific as it will give you more control over your agent. Let us know if you have any other issues with Pickaxe or feedback you want to give us!

Great question! An example could be if a user wants to create a chatbot that summarizes text. A good trigger prompt could be “After the user sends text, utilize the tool to summarize the text given by the user in a professional manner”. This tells the agent exactly when you want it to use the action and how to use it. We updated the copilot action to properly output the document so hopefully it is better. Can you test it out again and let us know if you still get the same issue?
Yea, it still happens A LOT… I would say that it happens about 20 - 30% of the time… Is there something we need to tweak in the “action”??

I don’t think this an actual issue with copilot itself, I think we need to modify your prompt instead. I made some changes to your prompt in my testing and was able to get it to work 100% of the time. In your Final Quality Pass section, I added “and use copilot to create a markdown file for final output” to the “Rewrite until clean” text. In the Default Behavior section, I added “using the copilot action” to the “If asked for writing, deliver finished copy”. In the model reminder, I added “If not, revise and then use copilot tool to create the markdown file.” to the very end of it. I also added a trigger prompt to Copilot. The prompt I put was very simple: “Every time the user asks to write something, create a new markdown file and finish the writing in that markdown file”. If you would like my whole prompt, I can send it over email, I just don’t want to paste your whole prompt on the community forum. Please let me know and hopefully this helps!

Is there some documentation on how to “prompt” correctly for co-piliot? That would be super helpful.. In fact, if there was documentation on prompting in general like for “interfacing” with the pickaxe environment… In other words, how to make sure my agents are TALKING to the Pickaxe framework well…
