Does CoPilot Not Produce Work Product in Preview?

I have a document generator for vibe coding platforms.

I just ran a Preview, and the Copilot did not return a document even as it said it was doing so, so I asked again. It may be that Claude is conditioned somehow to deliver “crafts” in their “artifact panel”, as I am using Opus 4.6

Again, I did not get any access to the work product.

Is this a limitation of Preview? If so, could the UI be updated to show some kind of notice before the user spends time on it? Or is the issue likely my prompt? I wouldn’t think so because the platform seems to understand the document as a deliverable.

Doesn’t work in the published Pickaxe, either.
Issue seems to be with the Claude “artifact panel”, which IDK how to surface in Pickaxe.

Tested Copilot and it seems I have the same problem. It simply doesnt trigger no matter what prompt I give it.

Hi,

Our engineering team rolled out a few backend improvements to smooth this out. I just tested it in my own Pickaxe setup and it’s working properly on my end.

Could you please give it another try and let me know how it goes?

When using Copilot and trying to create simple HTML site it still just prints the HTML out but doesnt actually create an artifact to preview or to download.

Hi,

It might need a token length adjustment. You can change it in the Configure tab. Attaching a screenshot for reference.

A simple prompt also works

P.S: It takes time. As you can see in the above screenshot, it took almost 3 minutes to generate

My output/input tokens are same as in your image, tested on Gemini 3 Flash.

Can you share tour trigger prompt? Can’t seem to get Copilot working on my end in any way.

Hi @hurmuli, You can just use the toggle. Try changing the AI Model as well.

Yeah, that setting is on and Copilot is “active”. Tested on GPT 5.1 and Copilot didn’t trigger.

Just reminding the team that when smart people can’t make a Pickaxe feature work, that’s a very serious issue. There are so many possibilities…maybe some models can’t do Copilot? Can the option be greyed out? Can there be some kind of text under the option that’s helpful if that’s the case?
I know there’s a big release pending, but I hope that that issues like this get attention after that.

Please share Pickaxe details so we can look into it. You can share it here or email it to info@pickaxe.co

The documentation here is pretty complete. It should be easy to replicate.
