There’s a really cool feature where your upgrade cards appear inside the chat when the user runs out of uses.
However, I tested it and it doesn’t take you to the checkout, it just takes you back to the homepage.

That’s definitely not expected behavior, thanks for flagging it.
One possibility could be that the user is already subscribed, so instead of showing checkout again, it redirects them to the homepage. That said, I don’t want to assume anything without checking properly.
Could you please email us at info@pickaxe.co and share:
The Pickaxe link
The portal link where this is happening
We’ll take a closer look and figure out what’s going on.
Is it OK if I post here as well? I haven’t had any luck with email support since the migration!
It’s app.myhumanizer.com and it’s the Free portal.
Free users cannot upgrade to a paid subscription from inside the pickaxe tool - it takes them nowhere.
This is the user journey (see screenshots):
There’s also a black ‘upgrade’ button in the corner of the text input box - it just takes you to the homepage.
Hi,
Thanks for sharing the details, that really helps.
I just tested the same flow on my end, and in my case it redirects to the paid subscription page. I’ve attached a screenshot for reference.
Would it be possible for you to share a quick screen recording of your exact steps? I want to make sure I’m following the same path as your users and not missing anything.
Once I can see the exact flow, I’ll be able to dig into this more precisely and help you resolve it faster.
Thanks man.
I think you are referring to a different subscription page - when you first sign up.
I had removed the Free plan but it’s back now.
I’m referring to the in-chat flow once you hit the usage limit (10 free uses on the free plan).
In the video you can see I click on the cards. On my second attempt I click the black upgrade button. Both redirect me elsewhere.
Thanks for recording that flow — it was super helpful. I reproduced the same loop on your Free portal and attached it to our active bug (PRD-633) where the upgrade card sometimes bounces users back to the Pickaxe instead of Stripe. Engineering is working through that fix now
Thank you.
I tested the same flow in other people’s pickaxes (who’ve publicly shared links in the forum) and I can confirm it’s a widespread issue, not just me. And it seems to affect chatbots not forms.
Hi @mghent1 ,
Thank you for your patience while this was being investigated.
This issue was tracked internally under PRD-633, and I can confirm that it has now been fixed. I tested the upgrade flow again, and when a user runs out of uses and selects an access group from the in-chat upgrade message, the flow now redirects to Stripe checkout as expected.
When you have a chance, please test it again on your side and let us know if you notice anything unexpected.
Thanks for working on this. I think we’re halfway there.
Clicking on the black upgrade button still redirects users to the homepage.
Clicking on the card does take users to the checkout page. But they are forced to click the card again on this weird grey screen:
Why can’t they go straight to checkout after clicking the first card? What does "P” mean at the top of each card? At least change the design so it matches the other subscription pages.
