Locked screen for LOGGED OUT users

I mentioned this several times to the team but it seems like if I do not give it it´s own thread here it gets ignore despite hyper critical for conversion and user experience.

Situation:
A user has to login/signup in order to use any of my Agents. So loggedout users in the guest portal shoudl see a login / sign up screen by default if they are trying to access.
But instead they see “upgrade” which makes no sense whatsoever! Upgarding before even creating an account!

This caused my sign up rate to plument to almost 0 signups per day down from 10 per day on average. Without signups I can´t use it as lead magnet for the funnel.

This is so critical because it destroys every studo that uses a free plan as Lead Magnet for a marketing funnel which is probably most of them unless it´s a one time use tool.

If this is not fixed asap I have to consider moving away as it is killing my revenue from direct traffic pretty much entirely and creates additional email support as it is counter intutive to users…

This is something a good UX Designer could tell you easily and would red flag immediatly - please hire one :slight_smile:

Thank you for reaching out.

This has already been fixed. Locked tools now follow the upgrade path configured for the end user’s access group.

I checked your setup, and the reason you are not seeing that behavior is that your Guest Portal currently does not have Access Control enabled:

I temporarily turned on Access Control in your portal so I could demonstrate this using your own setup, and then turned it back off afterward. Once Access Control is turned on and the relevant access groups are selected, the same locked tool link from your screenshot should show the access group upgrade path instead:

In practice, that means the locked screen will follow the upgrade path of whoever is viewing it, and you can customize the description and button text for that flow in the Access Group settings.

Ok sounds good - but if they sign upto this do they stay then in the guest portal!?! I don´t get the logic behind the entire thing… if that is due to teh guest portal what do I need the guest portal for in teh first place!? Can you tell enlighten me? IT´s really confusing! :smiley:

Also can you please eplain me how to do that?! I just tried and it literally fucked everything up it is so incredbily cunterintutive and ANTI-logical… When I activated this it restricted access for everyone including the paid users that are logged in… whatever I do with this it has consequences that aren´t mentioned nor is the user (me) warned about the consequence of the settings change and then again the consequences make (at least to me) 0 sense…

Also can you please fix the mess this has caused??? i deleted the access controll and now everythig it 100% fucked up for everything! It doesn´t send peopel to the default main portal “Ki Toolbox” anymore but prompts them to Upgarde! Even if they have an unlimited plan! It literally restricted everyone nobody has access anymore …

I even tried to delete the guest protal but nothing helps…

This is beyond horrible I have to board a flight now knowing teh entire thing is fucked up… please fix that for me while I am in teh air… because now body who has access to the KI Toolbox Portal has access and I have no clue why nor did I change anything … it´s the same as before but access is complety fucked… you have my authorization to make changes to the access group because all settings are like it was before the change but everything is locked for everyone…

As update I recreated the guest portal … same settings no access control but now everything is availble unlimited to everyone withou any limites! Please fix this please imediatly because to be honest the whole system how V2 controls access is a shitshow that should not have been released!

Same setting 3 different outcomes … no controll over what users can access whatsoever!

Now everything is accessible for everyone without any limits which is slightly better than everything locked but obviously not sustainable!

Can somebody please jump on the call with me?!?! The entire upgrade and access is entirely broken! Peopel don´t have access who paid I get emails requesting access and people! Not getting a response her when your system is in complete disarray is incredibly unprofessional!

Update:
I managed to give paying users access again… by copying the existing portal and deleting the old one + the guest one - now I have only one but there was NO SETTING CHANGES… but now despite settings in the guest (public) access group path like this:

No it´s not unfortunately the entire access control it´s littered with bugs and same settings have completely different outcomes…. So it is utterly unreliable and I am not confident that users actually have access to purchased products… also this is what users see when they are not logged in but go to a pickaxe … none of this should be visible! Apart from the Layout being fucked by overlapping on the top!
